Frequently Asked

Asked honestly, answered honestly.

The questions families, clients, and referring professionals actually ask, including the ones that are hard to ask out loud. If yours isn’t here, call. The line answers 24/7.

Treatment & The Method
My Limitless Journeys is a six-bed residential treatment residence in Encino, California, providing the full continuum of care: medically supervised detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, transitional living, and alumni care. We treat substance use disorders, alcohol addiction, co-occurring mental health conditions, and trauma through The Rebuild Method, our whole-person clinical framework.
The Rebuild Method is our whole-person clinical framework, organized around four integrated domains: Body (detox, physiology, nervous-system regulation), Mind (trauma-focused therapy and co-occurring conditions), Life (ADL-standard structure and relational work), and Self (identity, values, meaning). Beneath all four sits Discretion, the operational commitment that makes deep clinical work possible for our clients.
Length of stay is determined clinically, based on each client’s individual treatment plan. Residential stays generally range from 30 to 90 days, followed by outpatient care of varying duration. The full arc, from detox through alumni, is designed for long-term recovery rather than a fixed package.
The work continues through PHP, IOP, transitional living, and alumni engagement. Continuity is supported by our clinical app, which is set up by the care team at intake and carries the treatment plan, daily structure, and clinical team connection across every level of care.
Yes. We treat anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, OCD, ADHD, eating disorders, and failure to launch, as primary conditions or as co-occurring diagnoses, under board-certified psychiatric oversight.
Admissions & Insurance
We work with most major insurance providers, including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross (including most BCBS Blue Card plans), Cigna, Kaiser Permanente of Southern California, UnitedHealthcare, HealthNet, UMR, First Health, MHN, TriCare West, and Quantum Health. We also accept private pay. Our admissions team verifies coverage on the initial call.
When a bed is available and coverage is confirmed, admission is often same-week and sometimes same-day. The intake line answers 24/7, and clinical assessment can happen on the first call.
Yes, and they often do. Spouses, parents, attorneys, managers, and interventionists regularly make the first contact. We’ll hold that conversation with full discretion and help shape the path from there.
We’ll tell you honestly, and point you toward a setting that fits better. A six-bed clinical model is not right for everyone, and our intake assessment exists to answer that question truthfully, not to fill beds.
Privacy & Daily Life
Privacy is the condition our entire operation is built around. Our private hillside residence is insulated from public exposure, our 1:1 staff-to-client ratios mean no crowded common areas, and every team member is trained to treat each client’s identity, work, and reputation as sensitive by default. Discretion is not a feature. It is the foundation.
When clinically appropriate, yes. Our six-bed setting is configured to allow continued professional work where it supports recovery rather than competes with it. Every case is assessed individually by the clinical team at intake, and the decision is revisited throughout the stay.
Structured to the California ADL standard: wake at a set time, make the bed, prepare breakfast, manage medication, move your body, and take yourself through a day of clinical sessions, shared meals, and genuine rest. The structure is the therapy, it is how a manageable life is practiced before it is resumed.
Yes. We are licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services (License 191135BP) and accredited by The Joint Commission, with memberships in NAATP, CCAPP, IECA, NATSAP, and YATA.
Families & Referring Professionals
Family involvement is integrated into the clinical plan from day one, not offered as an add-on. Family therapy and family-systems work happen throughout residential care and continue through outpatient and alumni engagement. The family is treated as part of the system the client is returning to.
Adults whose work, reputation, and privacy cannot be set aside to do this clinical work, white-collar professionals, executives, entertainment industry professionals, and the families searching on their behalf. Our approach is built around full clinical depth delivered with complete discretion.
Interventionists, therapists, psychiatrists, and attorneys can request clinical-to-clinical conversations through the same intake line. With appropriate releases, we coordinate care planning, progress communication, and discharge continuity with the referring professional throughout the stay.
