The San Fernando Valley is home to over 1.7 million residents, many of whom are navigating the complex landscape of addiction recovery. Whether you’re based in Encino, Sherman Oaks, Tarzana, or any other Valley community, understanding your treatment options is essential for making an informed decision. My Limitless Journeys brings specialized, compassionate addiction treatment to the heart of the Valley — with multiple program levels designed to meet different needs at every stage of the journey.
The Continuum of Care Approach
Effective addiction treatment often requires a stepped approach, moving from intensive care to less restrictive environments as clients progress in their recovery. This continuum of care model ensures that individuals receive the right level of support at the right time — not too little too soon, and not more than necessary as stability grows. At My Limitless Journeys, we offer this full spectrum of services, allowing us to support clients through every phase without forcing a handoff to an unfamiliar program.
“Recovery isn’t a single event — it’s a progression. The right treatment matches the right level of intensity to where you actually are, then adjusts as you grow.”
Treatment Levels Explained
Medical Detox
Withdrawal from alcohol or drugs can be dangerous without professional supervision. Our detox program provides medically supervised withdrawal management — monitoring vital signs, managing symptoms, and preparing clients for the next phase. Located in Encino, minutes from Tarzana and Sherman Oaks, the facility offers privacy during this critical first step.
Detox addresses physical dependence; it’s the foundation that makes the clinical work possible.
Residential Treatment
Our 6-bed residential program provides 24/7 care in a therapeutic community setting. The small size ensures individualized attention from our clinical team. Ideal for severe addictions, co-occurring mental health conditions, or those who have struggled with outpatient treatment previously.
Immersive care removes daily triggers so clients can focus entirely on recovery.
Partial Hospitalization (PHP)
PHP clients attend structured programming 6 to 8 hours daily, then return home in the evenings. This level works well for those with family or work responsibilities, or those stepping down from residential. The Valley’s freeway access makes daily attendance manageable from communities throughout the region.
Robust clinical support with maintained independence — a meaningful middle ground.
Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Our IOP requires 10 to 19 hours of programming per week, allowing clients to maintain employment, attend school, and live at home. Suitable for those with less severe addiction, a strong support system, or those transitioning from a higher level of care.
A viable path for Valley residents who can’t step away from work or family commitments.
Communities We Serve
Located in Encino with easy access to the 101 and 405 freeways, My Limitless Journeys serves clients from throughout the San Fernando Valley. Our central location makes daily attendance practical and keeps family members close enough to participate meaningfully in the recovery process.
Life After Treatment
Transitional Living
Recovery extends far beyond initial treatment. Our transitional living program helps clients practice applying their recovery skills in a sober environment while still having access to support and structure. This bridge phase reduces the abruptness of the return to independent life — one of the most vulnerable windows in the recovery process.
Alumni Program
Our alumni program maintains ongoing connection and provides regular support meetings for those who have completed treatment. Many alumni become mentors and sponsors for newer clients, creating a culture of mutual support that gives long-term recovery a sense of purpose. These extended services recognize that building a sustainable sober life takes time and community — not just clinical care.
Our Treatment Philosophy
My Limitless Journeys was founded by people in long-term recovery who understand the power of the 12-step program. We also recognize that addiction is complex and that different people respond to different approaches. Our treatment philosophy integrates 12-step principles with evidence-based clinical care, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other evidence-supported interventions. This flexibility ensures that each individual receives treatment aligned with their values and learning style — not a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
For clients managing co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or PTSD alongside addiction, integrated dual diagnosis treatment is part of the clinical foundation — not an add-on.
Insurance Coverage
My Limitless Journeys accepts major insurance plans. Our admissions team can verify your coverage before you commit to anything, so there are no surprises about cost or eligibility. We believe financial uncertainty shouldn’t stand between someone and the treatment they need.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know which level of care is right for me?
The right level of care depends on the severity of your addiction, whether you have co-occurring mental health conditions, your home environment and support system, and whether you’ve previously attempted outpatient treatment without success. Our admissions team conducts a clinical assessment at intake to recommend the most appropriate starting point. Most people begin with detox if physical dependence is present, then move into residential or PHP depending on their clinical picture. You don’t need to know the answer before calling — that’s what the assessment is for.
Can I work or maintain family responsibilities during treatment?
It depends on the level of care. Residential treatment requires full-time commitment and isn’t compatible with maintaining employment. PHP involves structured daytime programming, which limits work but allows evenings at home. IOP, requiring 10 to 19 hours per week, is specifically designed to be compatible with employment and family life. If you’re unsure whether your circumstances allow for the level of care you need, our admissions team can help you think through the options honestly.
What does the 6-bed facility mean for my treatment experience?
Our intentionally small residential capacity means you receive individualized attention from the clinical team rather than being one of many clients in a large program. Groups are small and intimate, clinical staff know each client’s situation in depth, and the environment is more like a therapeutic home than an institution. For many people, this scale of care — where you’re genuinely known — makes a significant difference in their comfort level and therapeutic progress.
Does My Limitless Journeys treat co-occurring mental health conditions?
Yes. Co-occurring disorder treatment is integrated into our clinical program, not offered as a separate track. We treat conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD alongside addiction. Treating only the addiction while leaving a co-occurring condition unaddressed is one of the most common drivers of relapse — our integrated approach works to prevent that.
How do I verify my insurance coverage before committing?
The simplest path is to call our admissions team at (844) 446-1019 — they can verify your benefits directly. You can also use our online insurance verification form. We work with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, First Health, Kaiser Permanente of Southern California, MHN, TriCare West, Quantum Health, and private pay arrangements. Understanding your coverage before beginning treatment helps eliminate one source of uncertainty during an already difficult time.
What happens after I complete treatment?
We help clients build a continuing care plan before they leave — which typically includes connection to local support groups, a sponsor or peer mentor if pursuing 12-step recovery, and ongoing connection through our alumni program. For clients who need a less abrupt transition, our transitional living program provides a structured sober environment while independence is rebuilt gradually. The goal is a sustainable recovery in your own life — not just successful completion of a program.
